Berry kissel

To make berry kissel, start by combining fresh or frozen berries of your choice (such as strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries) in a saucepan with water and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the berries are soft and the mixture has thickened slightly. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry. Slowly pour the cornstarch slurry into the berry mixture, stirring constantly, until the kissel has thickened to your desired consistency. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving. You can enjoy berry kissel warm or chilled, topped with a dollop of whipped cream or yogurt if desired.

cider

Homemade cider

To make homemade cider, all we need are apples, sugar and yeast, and a little apple cider press, which is where our bacteria live. And, of course, you’ll need a juicer. There is a way to make cider without yeast, and you can do that too, but the process will be longer and take about a month or so. I didn’t want to wait that long, so we’ll cook with a small amount of yeast, and the result will be in 1.5 weeks. As for sugar, I won’t add much either, so that the cider doesn’t turn out to be too alcoholic.
